Day 1 of Marketing United 2017
is officially in the books, and the conference couldn’t have gotten off to a better start. Here are a few highlights from yesterday’s events.
Welcome to Marketing United
The Emma team wanted to make sure each and every attendee received a warm welcome to Nashville, so here's how we kicked things off...
• Scott Stratten
presented his newest talk this year, and we have to say… we didn’t think he could top last year’s keynote, but he absolutely did. As always, he brought a ton of super smart, hilarious, tell-it-like-it-is insights to the stage.
• As an original storyteller at Pixar
, Matthew Luhn
helped all of us learn how we can use the art of storytelling to capture our audience's attention, show the true heart of the business and form long-lasting connections with our customers. His session was equal parts inspiring, tactical, and downright fun.
• Mitch Lowe
is a founding executive at Netflix
and the president of Redbox
, so he knows a thing or two about taking a great idea and turning it into a revolutionary new way to do business. He reminded us that, as marketers, we're in the business of innovation. It's what we do! We all left feeling inspired to rise above the daily grind and keep moving our brands (and the industry as a whole) forward.
• If you've never seen Aaron Draplin
speak, stop what you're doing and find out when he's giving his next talk. His punk-rock energy was the perfect way to close an exciting day of sessions. You'll belly-laugh until your sides hurt only to realize an hour later you're ready to put your whole heart into your next project and conquer whatever challenges you may face. Powerful stuff.
Official Marketing United Cocktail Party
At the end of a long day of sessions, everyone gathered in the Event Hall for drinks and cocktails to talk about the day that was. But you know what's better than one party? Two parties!
We joined forces with our friends (and Emma customer) Tito's Vodka
to treat attendees to a VIP experience on the rooftop of Acme Feed & Seed
on Lower Broadway! We took in the amazing views of downtown Nashville, enjoyed some tasty food & drink, and generally had one awesome time.
We're incredibly lucky to have such a great group of sponsors, speakers, and attendees be a part of Marketing United. And the best part? We get to do it again today! Follow along at #MarketingUnited
