Why Emma + Eventbrite teamed up to host TechTN

It's hard to believe it’s already been over six months since Emma and Eventbrite joined forces to host TechTN, a casual meetup focused on bringing the Nashville tech community together.

We were blown away by the response to the very first TechTN event back in November 2015 – so many people wanted to come, we even had to create a waitlist! So we turned it into a regular meetup. In fact, the third TechTN will be on Wednesday, June 8 at Smith & Lentz Brewing Company.

Here’s what Deniz Gültekin, Experience Marketing Manager at Eventbrite had to say about the thinking behind TechTN, why they decided to partner with us to make it happen, and the awesome feedback they’ve gotten from the growing tech community here in Nashville:

“Eventbrite has always tried to play an active role in the tech community in San Francisco (where our HQ is located), so when we came to Nashville to launch our engineering team, we wanted to maintain that same focus on being a good community partner.

There is a really active community of usergroups and meetups in Nashville, but we wanted to provide a regular opportunity for the larger tech community to get together in a social setting that didn't necessarily revolve around a tech talk, hackathon, or conference.

Some of the best conversations, projects, and events get their start over a bite and a drink. So when we envisioned TechTN, we thought it could be more of a casual social gathering – one where anyone in the industry could come hang out, have a beer, and meet some new folks. And we were really excited that Emma was willing to partner with us to help make that happen.

We've gotten some really great feedback from attendees, especially our own engineering team! They love being able to reconnect with people they’ve met at conferences, meetups, game nights, shows, or went to school with. We've seen the tech community boom just in the past few years we’ve been in Nashville, and we're excited to see TechTN grow with it!"

Maybe you're new to the tech scene in Nashville, or you want to connect with folks outside of your usual user groups. Maybe you just want to come play cornhole and have a beer with friends. Whatever you're up for, we'd love to have you at the next TechTN!

You can save your spot here – but act fast, because this event always sells out.
